TFW – Regal Helps Create Toronto Fashion Week’s New Home!

By September 22, 2017Fashion Events

When Toronto Fashion Week put out a call to help imagine the new space they’d present one of the world’s most exclusive fashion events in, Regal Tent Productions answered! If you’re not familiar with TFW, the exclusive three-day festival rolled out in style from September 5th through 7th this year in their chic new home in Yorkville, Toronto’s most prestigious luxury retail neighbourhood. Shining a spotlight on fashion, art and culture with a global twist, the re-imagined bi-annual celebration included a speaker series with internationally renowned designers and industry experts, runway shows and special presentations.

The biggest challenge in creating this year’s new venue was the space – the event was taking place along Yorkville Avenue and Hazelton Avenue, which meant that our tent could only be a mere 24 feet wide (and a whopping 426 feet long!). Here at Regal we love a challenge though, and with lots of intense planning by our Sales Team, and a very skilled Operations Team, we pulled off the installation of this massive structure in only 36 hours!

This tent was not only a unique size, but it had a one-of-a-kind layout as well! One half of the tent was completely black fabric (did you know we are one of very few companies who offer black tent fabric for large scale structures?!) and the other half of the walls and roofs were clear fabric. The runway for the fashion shows was in the section with black walls which allowed the fashion geniuses presenting to control lighting for each individual designer, and the lobby and hair and make-up areas were in tent sections with clear walls which allowed for interesting decor and loads of natural sunlight!

Toronto Fashion Week was one of our biggest events in this incredibly busy tent season, and one of our favourites as well! With the help of all the organizers and our amazing Regal crew we were able to pull off creating (and removing!) this impressive tent in the streets of downtown Toronto in just 5 short days – truly amazing!
